The 14th most common last name in China. There are three main sources of the Zhu last name. 1) a descendent of Zhuan Xu (2,513 2,435 B.C.), Cao Jia, was awarded the land of Zhu (Fei and Teng of Shandong). The Zhu kingdom was eliminated by the Chu kingdom and their descendents began to bear the last name of Zhu; 2) descendents of Yu Shuns official Zhu Biao; 3) during Bei Wei Dynasty, Zhuo Hun and Zhu Hun changed their names to Zhu.
Hometown: North east of Su in An Hui.
