下梅，世界文化与自然遗产地武夷山的古村落，清代武夷岩茶集散地，是当年武夷岩茶贸易的中心市场。据《崇安县志》记载：康熙19年间，武夷茶市集崇安下梅，盛时每日行竹筏300多张，来往货物转动不绝。鼎盛时期的下梅茶市，连接着中俄边界贸易城恰克图，依托晋商的贸易伙伴关系，使武夷岩茶溯西北而上，与山西榆次车辋的常氏晋商帮结成强大的贸易关系，经温温数千公里的商旅路途，与晋商茶叶年交易量达百余万银两。同时，下梅邹氏茶贸易还与广东帮结为贸易伙伴关系，在广东澳门置茶庄，通洋艘与英国商人进行海上茶贸易。铺设了武夷山下梅茶市至西欧的万里茶路。每年茶期，把下梅收购精制后的茶叶，通过梅溪水路汇运至崇安县城，验押之后，雇用当地工匠达千余人，用车马将武夷山茶运至江西河口（现在的沿山县）。再由船帮改为水运至汉口，达襄樊，转唐河，北上至河南社旗镇，再用马帮驮运北上，经洛阳，过黄河，越太行，经晋城，长治，出祁县子洪口，再于鲁村换畜力大车北上，经太原、大同、到张家口、归化，现换骆驼至库仑、恰克图。从武夷山的下梅茶市起步，到中俄贸易城恰克图，全程是7000余里，在漫长的西部商路上，邹氏就有了自己雄厚的动力——具备了1000多峰骆驼驮运商品，足见其资本的强大。
