There are three origins of this last name. 1) Descendents of Duke Ke Lu of the Qin Chiu Dynasty; 2) Descendents of a tribe in Bei Wei Dynasty who bore the compound last name of Ke Ba. This last name was simplified and became Ke; 3) Descendents of the Jiang tribe or the Xian Bei tribe with the last name Ke.
