The 38[sup]th[/sup] most common last name in China. Zeng came from the last name Si, its named after a land. Sis were the descendents of the ancient king Xia Yu. During Xiao Kangs reign, he awarded the kingdom of Zeng to his youngest son Qu Lie (south west of Can in Shandong). In 567 B.C., the Lu kingdom invaded and destroyed the Zeng kingdom. The prince of Zeng escaped to the kingdom of Lou, and gave his descendents the last name Zeng.Hometown: 25 miles of Zhe in Shandong Province.
