可能会这样翻译：
几千年前，伟大的哲学家孟修斯说道：“一条小路贯穿大山，如果使用，就会在短时间内变成通道；但是，如果不使用，则会在同样短的时间内堵塞不通”。
而不是：
数千年前之孟子曰：“山径之蹊间，介然用之而成路，为间不用，则茅塞之矣”。
