Hua- Not too many people bear the last name of Hua, but they are scattered all over China. The origin of the last name Hua is not well documented. Fan YongJi of the Jing Dynasty changed his last name to Hua. His descendents are known as the Huas. One of the most famous Huas is Hua Mulan, who was known for her piety by going to war in place of her father.
