Dr.?Fong?was?the?founder?and?CEO?of?CLONTECH,?which?develops?and?markets?Molecular?Biology?products?to?academic?and?pharmaceutical?laboratories?in?the?US?and?thirty?other?countries.?Until?the?company?was?merged?with?BD?in?late?1999,?CLONTECH?grew?to?about?400?employees?including?65?Ph.D.?scientists.?The?company?was?selected?in?1994,?1995,?1998?and?1999?by?San?Jose?and?San?Francisco?Business?Journals?as?one?of?the?100?fastest-growing?private?companies?in?the?Bay?Area.?
