诚者，天之道也；思诚者，人之道也。至诚而不动者，未之有也；不诚，未有能动者也。

Sincerity is the principle of Heaven, and pursu ing it is the
principle of man. There has never been one with utmost sincerity
who could not move oth ers, nor has there ever been one without
sincerity who could move others.

仁者爱人，有礼者敬人。爱人者，人恒爱之；敬人者，人恒敬之。

The benevolent love others and the polite re spect others. He who
loves others will be loved per manently, and he who respects others
will be perma nently respected.

生亦我所欲也，义亦我所欲也；二者不可得兼，舍生而取义者也。

Life is what I treasure and righteousness is al so what I treasure;
when I can not keep them both I would rather sacrifice my life for
righteousness.
